Can You Help – Capt R Jackson
The branch has been contacted by Col (Retd) Ian Mercer RE. He has been contacted by a lady who knew all her life that she was adopted. Her adopted parents are now deceased, and she has finally been able to access some of her case notes from the time of her adoption.
Her natural father is now deceased. She has discovered that her grandfather was a Capt R Jackson RE who served in RE PCS, and she has one address which covers the period 1964-1969.
It is as follows: 8 CPCC Depot RE, BFPO 34. Col (Retd) Ian Mercer RE served in Osnabrueck (BFPO 36) and Lubbecke (BFPO22) at that time and the main postie in BFPO 22 was Ian Winfield.
Are there any members of the PCS family who might possibly know anything at all, even his first name, about Capt R Jackson and his role and function. Any scrap will be valued by the lady in question.
Please pass any information to Larry Peacock (secretary@pcsbranch.org.uk) who will pass on the information to Col (Retd) Ian Mercer RE.
Thank you for your attention.
