It is with regret that we have learned of the passing of Brian Ellison.
Brian lost his battle. For the last 2 years he fought courageously but he passed away on Sunday morning 31st July.
Kevin Knox informs Brian’s funeral details are as follows:
Date/Time: Thursday 18th Aug @ 1030.
Place: Telford crematorium, Woodhouse Lane, Telford, TF2 9NJ
It’s Brian’s wishes that any serving Military or Veterans to wear Medals, Corps/Regimental Ties or Blazers if desired
Food and drinks at the Shrewsbury Arms, Albrighton, 70 High Street, WV7 3LA from 1145-1700 (people are welcome to stay after this time, but this is the time the room has been reserved)

News
The following information has been received from Richard Plumb
Treasurer Defence Postal and Courier Service Officers’ Association
Most of you will be aware that the PCS (Reserve) element will disband next May. The notice below gives details of the disbandment parade to be held at Prince William of Gloucester Bks, Grantham. As 871 PC Sqn will re-role, the only unit to actually disband is Hartlepool based 883 PC Sqn and the parade is likely to be centred around them.
The Reserve element of the PC trade is being removed from the ORBAT by MAY 2023, 883 Sqn will be disbanded and 871 Sqn will re-role as a transport squadron under 151 Regt RLC the remainder of PC Ops will hopefully re-trade to another RLC unit. The Parade will we held at Grantham Station on Saturday 24 September at 1400Hrs. The Parade will celebrate 140 Year of continual TA / Reserve service as well as a flag lowering ceremony for the removal of the PCS Trade from the Reserves and a disbandment parade for 883 Sqn.
The Commanding Officer is very keen for as many Ex Posties to attend on the day. Anyone interested in attending should contact WO1 Marshall direct with the following details. He will respond with confirmation and further details of the parade. Attendees must bring in date photo identification with them.
