DESCRIPTION:2023 marks 70 years since the signing of the armistice that bought about an end to military operations during the Korean War. 60\,000 service personnel from across Britain and the Commonwealth saw action during the Korean War\, with 1\,100 losing their lives.  \nThe Royal British Legion will be marking this important milestone in an often-forgotten conflict with a special service of remembrance at Horse Guards Parade on Thursday 27 July from 11am. The event will focus on telling the story of the Korean War through the testimony and memories of the conflict from those who were there\, as well as looking to inform and engage the wider audience and attendees about a war which never truly ended.    \nAttendees/Eligibility   \nKorea 70 is a ticketed event open to British and Commonwealth veterans who served in the Korean War\, bereaved family members and their descendants (spouse\, partner\, or family members). The surrounding event expo area will be open to the wider public.  \nWe want to share the story of the 70th anniversary of the Korean War with as wide an audience as possible. Where previously invited guests/veterans would bring a single guest\, we encourage you to bring your friends and family members with you to this event. You will be able to request up to three guests when event registration opens in April.  \nRegistration  \nAll eligible attendees will need to register their interest to attend the event by following the link below and completing and submitting the Register your Interest form. The Royal British Legion will then be in touch again via email when registration opens in April to ask you to complete your full event accreditation. DESCRIPTION:Armed Forces Day 2019 will be held in Salisbury\, a city steeped in military history. The event\, which will be the eleventh Armed Forces Day\, will be hosted by Wiltshire County Council with support from the Ministry of Defence \nSalisbury has many links with the military. Following the nerve agent attack in the city in March 2018\, military teams worked tirelessly\, alongside the emergency services\, to support the recovery of the city. It is also home to many Army bases including Bulford Camp\, Tidworth Camp and Salisbury Plain\, one of the UK’s biggest military training areas. \nEvents are to be held across the UK to mark Armed Forces Day\, as well as the national event in Salisbury.

DESCRIPTION:ROYAL ENGINEERS ASSOCIATION\n PCS BRANCH REUNION – 17 MARCH 2018\nWith help from Paul Morris and after much research\, telephone calls and visits to various hotels close to the National Memorial Arboretum\, the Moor Hall Hotel and Spa in Sutton Coldfield has been selected for our 2018 Reunion on Saturday 17 March. \nThe address of the hotel is: Moor Hall Drive\, Sutton Coldfield B75 6LN and their website is http://www.moorhallhotel.co.uk which gives full details of facilities and transport links\, etc.\nUse of the Spa has also been agreed as part of our package\, should you wish to take advantage of the facility\, so remember to pack your cosi! \nBookings should be made on 01213 342 301. Please make the reservation staff aware that you are there for the Royal Engineers Reunion. Once reservations have been made with the hotel\, please ensure you inform both the Secretary (larrypeacock60@hotmail.co.uk) and myself (bfelks@talktalk.net) giving the full names of all those in your party along with any seating preferences. For clarity\, all payments should be made to the hotel\, not the Branch Treasurer. The hotel will not require a deposit; however they will require a credit/debit card number when booking. The committee is looking at the possibility of organising some kind of a tree planting ceremony over the Reunion weekend for those able to attend.
