The FPO came under 3 PC Regt. Emblem was a lovely little FPO with 4 staff, the proud little building is in a state of disrepair, however it has faired significantly better than other buildings and still has kept its identification that it was a Post Office (note: Letter boxes under the Counter)
Regrettably I don’t know when the FPO closed – there are conflicting dates, according to local sources it could be as early as 1985 or 86. However if you look at the identity photograph (I did this in 1981! – took some ribbing over my typo)
